On March 6th American Lung Association and St Louis Missouri will host their third annual race to the top of the Metropolitan Building.  This is not only a fun race, but a great benefit for healthier lungs.  (To donate http://tinyurl.com/dwyci50

                                                               The Met

If you are like me and you hate cardio or you do not have the attention span to train for a 10K or half marathon, then this race is for you.  If you have plether of power and are well conditioned, then step right up andkeep stepping up.  Up the stairs that is.

Starting line for race. Runners are released every 12 seconds.

It is a run to the top of the Metropolitan Building in Downtown St. Louis.  That is straight up 42 floors which may or may not sound like a lot of work.  But, I guarantee that once you are actually start doing it you will find out that it is one of the toughest things you have ever done.                                                                    crossfit pic

You have to have strong muscles and a well conditioned heart.  The amount of work required from your lungs is something that is hard to reciprocate.  I would compare it to running several 400 meter runs in track practice, suicides on the basketball court, or gassers in football.  Even squating heavy weight for 30+ reps would not be tough enough to compare to what your lungs will go through.

So, if you are up to the challenge, sign right up.  Or, if you still want to contribute to the fight for healthier lung, go to http://tinyurl.com/dwyci50
